In your Gallery Settings, you can enable or disable downloads as well as control what sized image your clients can download.
If you’re currently on the free plan, the only available download size in your Galleries will be Social Media Sized (2048px on the long edge). On the Lite plan, Entry plan, or higher tiers, clients can download full-resolution images directly from galleries, eliminating the need for external file-sharing services.
Free downloads are disabled by default, so you'll need to enable downloads in your Gallery Settings when publishing a new Gallery to make those available to clients.
Tip: To access the Settings of a Gallery you've already published, click Galleries & Apps in the top-right corner of your Collection. Click Settings, and navigate to the Downloads section.
Plan-Specific Download Capabilities
Clients on the Lite plan, Entry plan, or any higher subscription tier can download full-resolution images directly from galleries. These tiers simplify image transfer processes and provide a premium downloading experience.
Customize Download Settings in a Gallery
Under the Downloads tab, enable free downloads. Now you can begin customizing your download settings!
Downloadable Sizes
In this section, you can choose what download sizes to offer to clients. You can offer the full-resolution images only, include social media-sized downloads, or even a custom size. For the best downloading experience, it is recommended to use a desktop computer instead of mobile devices. Desktop environments are more equipped to handle large downloads efficiently and minimize potential issues.
Folders for Download
By default, all Folders in the Collection at the time of publishing will be available for download. To change this, go to the 'Specific Folders' tab and unselect any Folders you don't want to be downloadable.
Note: Disabling Downloads for a Folder will also make it so that clients cannot download Favorites Lists that contain images from that Folder, since it is no longer available for download.
Download PIN
Enabling a Download PIN gives clients control over who can download from their Gallery.
When turned on, a 4-digit PIN will be generated, and it will be required for anyone downloading from the Gallery. This PIN can be reset or disabled at any time.
Watermark Downloaded Images
In the Design tab, we covered the option to display a watermark when viewing the Gallery. In the Downloads section, you have the option to apply a watermark to downloaded images as well. This means that when your client downloads an image, it will include the applied watermark.
Downloading from a Gallery
In the Gallery, your client can download their full Gallery, individual Folders, or single images.
For single images, if you have one download size enabled, just click this button, and the image will download right away. If more than one size is enabled, clients can choose which size they want to download. To ensure a smooth download process, especially for larger image sets, clients are encouraged to use desktop devices over mobile devices. This helps prevent issues with zip file downloads and saves files correctly.
For the entire Gallery, Folders, or favorites lists, clients will need to click the download icon in the top right of the gallery.
On the download screen, they can choose what set of images they want to download (full Gallery or specific Folders), and if there are multiple sizes available, which download size.
A download link will be sent to the email they enter on this page!
