Embedding videos from Dropbox is a great way to allow clients to view and even download a video right from their Gallery!

✨ HOW TO ✨

To add a Dropbox video to your gallery, visit your gallery settings by clicking on the collection in your Collection Dashboard, and then click Galleries & Apps at the top right. Next, click β€œEdit” next to the gallery you'd like to embed the video into.

Navigate to the "Advanced" tab in your gallery settings to access the "Embed Media" section.

Head over to Dropbox and copy the URL for the video you'd like to embed. Take that link and paste it into the 'Other URL' section on CloudSpot.

Finally, scroll to the end of the URL and remove "dl=0" and replace it with "raw=1". Then, click Update!

BOOM! You're done! πŸŽ‰ πŸŽ‰

✨ F.A.Q. ✨

Q: Can my client download the video from their Gallery?

A: If accessing the Gallery from Chrome, Edge, or another Chromium browser, sure! Simply click on the three dots in the embedded video and click "Download". This will allow your client to download their video without ever leaving their Gallery!

Q: Can I disable downloads/require a password for this embedded video?

A: Though disabling downloads and password-protecting videos are features for Pro and Business Dropbox users, doing so in Dropbox will prevent the video from loading in your Gallery. This is a security measure from Dropbox to prevent unwanted downloads. Unfortunately, there is no workaround for this.

Q: Help! My video isn't loading in my Gallery!

A: Oh no! If you are seeing "www.dropbox.com refused to connect.", that means that the URL hasn't been edited to allow it to be embedded into CloudSpot. At the end of the Dropbox link, remove "dl=0" and replace it with "raw=1". This will allow the video to be embedded into CloudSpot. Still having trouble? Reach out to our support team!
