"Services" refer to everything you offer your clients—from photography sessions like newborn, wedding, and family portraits to additional interactions such as consultations, phone calls, and in-person sales meetings.
When you create a Service, it will be available on your Scheduling Site for potential clients to view and book.
Create a Service
Service Details
Head over to Studio > Scheduling > Services
Click on "Create a Service"
Name your Service. This name is what clients will see on your Scheduling Site. It can be general ("Phone Consultation") or specific ("Portrait Session – Downtown Studio").
Enter a Description for this Service. You may want to describe what the Service includes, its location, or what clients can expect from this type of event.
Choose a Duration. How long will this Service be?
Upload a Cover Photo. This is not required, but is definitely recommended! Choose a landscape (horizontal) photo that showcases what this Service is about or an example photo from a time you've performed this type of Service in the past.
Upload Additional Sample Photos. These are optional but also recommended. They give your potential clients examples of what to expect from their session.
Click "Continue"
Availability Settings
Set Availability. Set your availability for this Service. Here is where you'll choose which days and times of the week you typically want clients to book this type of service. Keep in mind, we'll always respect what is on your connected calendar first, so if you put that you are available on Saturdays for this service, but your connected calendar has an event booked on a particular Saturday from 12pm to 5pm already, we won't show you as available to book during that time.
Set Lead Time. Setting a 'Lead Time' ensures that clients can't book you for this Service without enough time for you to prepare. For example, if you set a Lead Time of 7 days, potential clients will not be able to book this Service unless they choose a date that is a minimum of 7 days in the future.
Set Buffer Time. Buffer Time adds a few minutes after each scheduled event on your calendar. It removes the ability for multiple clients to book you back-to-back. Buffer Time can be helpful if you have to travel from one location to another (or if you just need a break in between sessions!).
Set Start Time Increment. This setting lets you choose how often clients see available start times on your calendar. For example, you can limit your Service to only ever begin on the hour (4:00, 5:00, etc.) or expand it to allow clients to start their session on the quarter hour (4:00, 4:15, 4:30, 4:45, etc.). Smaller Start Time Increments will give your clients more options to find a convenient time that works for them!
Click "Continue"
Additional Questions (optional)
This section will allow you to ask clients specific questions during the booking process. For example, for a wedding you may want to know what town the wedding ceremony will be located in, or you may wish to know how many children are in the family for a holiday portrait session. These questions are optional.
Important Note: The client’s name, phone number, and email address will be collected by default, so you won’t need to ask for those here.
Click the "Add Question" button.
Type the question.
Enter any placeholder text, if needed, to help the client understand what type of answer you're looking for.
Toggle on the "Required" option if the question must be answered by the client before they can proceed to the next step.
Click "Add Question" to add another question (up to 5) or click "Continue"
Payment Settings
If you are located in the United States and wish to collect payment online at the time of booking, be sure you have set up your account to receive payments with fast deposits directly to your bank account!
Enter the Price of Service. This is the price that will be displayed to your clients. Usually, this price is a total price for the Service. If this Service has a range of prices, you can toggle on the "Display Starting at..." option, which means clients will see "Starting at..." in front of the price, instead of a fixed amount. If this Service is free, enter 0 for the price.
Require a Payment at Booking (optional). Enable this feature if you'd like to collect a payment online when the client books their session or event.
Enter the payment amount. This is the amount the client will be asked to pay at booking.
Choose a payment description. You can label this payment as a deposit or a retainer, if you wish!
Click "Continue"
Review & Save
Finally, review the main details of this Service and click "Save" to finalize this Service!
